PRODUCT DESCRIPTION ORIGINAL ARTWORK is done using Watercolor paints onto Arches 140# Watercolor Paper. These original images are then scanned and made into the following items:
TILES/TRIVETS AND COASTERS are made using a dye sublimation process onto ceramic tiles. I take digital pictures of my originals and adjust and crop the scans to my ideal image. I use these images to make art tiles and coasters in my studio in Gig Harbor, WA.
TEMPERED GLASS CUTTING BOARDS are made using a dye sublimation process onto a tempered glass cutting board. I take digital pictures of my originals and adjust and crop the scans to my ideal image and apply them to an either 8 x 12 or 12 x 16 cutting board in my studio in Gig Harbor, WA.
MOUSE PADS are made using a dye sublimation process onto mouse pad material. I take digital pictures of my originals and adjust and crop the scans to my ideal image. I use these images to make the 7.5 x 9 Mouse pads in my studio in Gig Harbor, WA.
BLANK CARDS, 8 X 10 AND 16 X 20 PRINTS are made from my original images. Jpgs are sent to New York where the images are made on a Xerox IGEN Printer and sent back to me. I package the cards and envelopes together. I package the matted prints in a clear plastic bag using double mats from Portland, OR and Backing material from CA.
BIO - INFORMATION I am a self taught, working artist, supporting myself with my art. My degree is in Business and Economics from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA. I worked for Xerox Corporation for 28 years as a Marketing Executive. I took early retirement from Xerox 6 years ago and started my second career as a working artist. I show my work in 4 Galleries and do about 28 Fine Art Festivals a year in Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, Idaho, and New Mexico.
My art process is pretty simple. I take my own reference pictures with a macro lens. I draw out my piece incorporating many different pictures into the composition. My main focus is on color, patterns and movement. I begin painting what appeals to me and then, if I am lucky, the vision takes over. I love to paint over sized pieces full of contrasting color and light. I am really interested in the way patterns and shapes evolve during the process. I use complementary colors to intensify the boldness of the piece. I have worked very hard to develop my own style, that is unique and easily recognizable.
I love that my work is reproduced into different products. I like to think of my work as being "User Friendly" because people tend to like the boldness and color of my art.
